In Tampa, urgent care centers are busiest on weekends and evenings when doctors' offices are closed, and most post their wait times online. Across Florida, primary care practices often have a waitlist for new patients, so establishing care before you need it saves time. For a dental emergency outside office hours, an urgent care center can prescribe antibiotics and pain relief but cannot fix the tooth; a hospital emergency room can treat swelling that affects breathing or swallowing. I worked with Lauren for three months. When I first started working with her, my jaw was locking while I chewed. After months of manipulation and different exercises, I now how more control over my mouth and can open it so much wider. She is very knowledgeable about the mouth, jaw and neck. If you have TMJ pain and have tried everything, I highly recommend Lauren.

Dr. Lauren Rivera has been a lifesafer for me. My tmjd journey has been long, tiring, and painful. I wish I would have known about tmj physical therapy years ago. The exersizes she has provided me with have greatly improved the function of my jaw, and dry needling has been a huge help in reducing and managing pain. I was a bit nervous moving forward with dry needling due to being hypermobile and the fear of feeling instability from it, but I am so happy I gave a stab at it (literally lol) because for the first time in 10 years I have felt relaxed in my face. I've cried happy tears over this, anyone with this pain knows that even a day of being free from it is a win, and I've managed to get many of those. I look forward to my continued treatment, and working with her throughout my tmj splint journey which is the next step.

My daughter has been seeing Lauren for quite a few months now. We’ve seen a ton of stabilization of her jaw pain, and I even notice an improvement of her posture and facial profile! My daughter looks forward to her appointments- Lauren makes it fun and light and spends extra time connecting with her. We’re so thankful for her help!!

We've loved our experience with Dr. Lauren! She has been so patient with my kids and sets reasonable and realistic goals for them. She's made the exercises fun so my kids are always excited to see her and what comes next!

I cannot recommend Lauren enough. Thanks to her, I went from having daily TMJ pain for long stretches of the day over the last eight years to now experiencing only occasional discomfort that I know how to manage. Her exercise list and her knowledge have been a complete game changer for me. Not only did Lauren help resolve my TMJ issues, but she also suggested I see an ENT and I ended up getting a septoplasty. Thanks to her recommendation my breathing has improved dramatically. She’s definitely looking beyond the TMJ issues and has had very good recommendations also for back stretches that also improved my pain. Lauren has had such a profound impact on my quality of life going forward and I am incredibly grateful for her care, knowledge, and support. If you are dealing with TMJ issues, I highly recommend seeing Dr. Rivera
